Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deli Manager to oversee the daily operations of our deli department. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail oriented and possess strong leadership skills and a passion for food service management. You will be responsible for ensuring high-quality food preparation, maintaining inventory control, and providing exceptional customer service. Your role will also involve training and mentoring staff to create a positive and efficient work environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the deli department, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Supervise and train staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Cutting and preparation of hot and cold deli sandwiches, sides and other deli offerings, ensuring that all foods meet high-quality standards. Cross train all staff to perform deli specific duties.
- Work with the Executive Chef to forecast demand and order products accordingly.
- Oversee inventory control, including ordering supplies and managing stock levels ensuring the department is stocked with high-quality, fresh products while minimizing waste and spoilage.
- Maintain a clean, attractive and well-organized deli counter and display areas to enhance product appeal and drive sales.
- Rotate stock to maintain freshness and minimize inventory loss.
- Ensure all deli products are properly labeled, including pricing, nutritional information, and special labels as needed.
- Develop schedules for deli staff to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours.
- Address customer inquiries and complaints promptly to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Assist with promotional strategies to enhance deli sales and attract new customers.
- Collaborate with upper management on budgeting, pricing, and menu development.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food service management or restaurant management, preferably in a quick-service fast food restaurant or similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of hospitality management principles and practices within the food industry.
- Experience in staff training and development, with the ability to motivate team members effectively.
- Familiarity with inventory control processes and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
